adi7anand

Adi grew up in the far realms of New Delhi (South Side represent), India. His family moved to Tejas in the 90s and hence, he ended up in Austin at the University of Texas. Deprived of live music in India in the 80s and 90s (He did, however, go and see the Human Rights Concert in New Delhi featuring Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman, and Youssou N'Dour; as well as Deep Purple at the Nehru Stadium; but skipped Samantha Fox's show in India), Adi found himself constantly checking out bands in the 'Live Music Capital' during his college days. Acts like Miss Universe, Spoon, Sixteen Deluxe, Starfish, Sincola, the Motards all shaped his early Austin nightlife. Liberty Lunch and Hole in the Wall were his favorite venues back then, although now he claims the Red River District to be his haunt of choice. Still going to see music non-stop, Adi's favorite bands of all time would be the Beatles and Weezer, but he loves what Austin has supplied to his eager ears including Voxtrot, ..Trail of Dead, Young Heart Attack, Steamroller, the Sword, Sparrow House, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Sound Team, Tacks, the Boy Disaster, Pink Nasty, Finally Punk, Golden Bear, IV Thieves, Shearwater, Zykos, Tia Carrera, Oh! Beast, Midori Umi, Okkervil River, the Channel, the Bellevue Jubilee, Brothers and Sisters, Ghostland Observatory, the Austin Symphony, Golden Arm Trio, the Black Angels, the list is endless.

Live Music Babe

What can I tell you about me. I am 49, oldest of 7 children, raised as an airforce brat ,so I lived all over the US, mainly Tenn, New Orleans,Louisiania, Indiana, Massachussetts and Texas. I am the mother of 4 grown children, and grandmother to 4. I have been a stage mom,ballet/dance mom, soccer mom, cheerleading mom, drill team mom, my whole life. I would get out to the Saxon Pub now and then for an occassional nite out with my hubby, for Some Omar and The Howlers. I worked downtown as a waitress, so I got hear a lot of live music, while I was in my 20s and early thirties. Going to the Saxon occasionally turned me on to other musicians whose music, I fell in love with. I have been running a registered family Austin Live Music for over 14 yrs. Then my kids grew up. I raise other peoples kids by day, but when the sun goes down, on go the dancing shoes and out to downtown to hear live music. Live music is my life right now. I am close friends with Tracy Conover, Malford Milligan, Carolyn Wonderland, Alan Haynes, Guy Forsythe,Tommy Shannon, Nuno, and his wife Angie from Nuno's on 6th, David Cotton. Joe Abel who owns The Saxon. I hang out at The Saxon, Nunos', Maggie Maes, Friends, BD Rileys, Momos', Dons' Depot, 311 club, Cedar Street, Ringside,Speakeasy. You can say I get around to most of the cities live music venues. Thus, I have earned the name Live Music Babe.
