Why am I rating bands? What does it have to do with my personalized calendar?
Your rating bands tells us what kind of music you like and dislike so our recommendations are customized for your personal music tastes. The more bands you rate the more customized your recommendations will be.
Why do only some of the bands have music available?
A band either has to have music on iTunes or have uploaded music directly to our site. Ask your favorite band to upload their music!
How do bands make it onto your Austin Live Music?
The bands on our Austin Live Music are the bands that are rated the most often.
What makes a band "local" because I see non-local bands listed on the calendar too.
As far as Unlock Austin is concerned, a band is "local" if they've played in or around Austin in the past 30 days or they will be playing in the next 30 days.
I've changed my mind about the kind of music I like. How do I reset my band ratings?
Go to 'My Profile' and then click on 'Previous Ratings (X)'. At this page, you rest your cursor over the stars and move either backward or forward to wherever you want it and click. If you click on the bands name it takes you to their page.
When I click to get plugged into a band or venue, how is it rated?
It's rated with 5-stars.

I'm in a band. How do I add my band to your site?
Click on Artist Signup in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Follow the directions from there.
How do I add my band's music, photo, and event to your site?
You must first become a band administrator by going to your band's profile, Clicking on the 'Edit [your band's name] Page', and then click on 'Request to be an administrator for this band's page'. You will receive an email once your request is approved.
How does Unlock Austin benefit my band? Why should I get my fans to sign up?
Your existing fans help you attract new fans.
Your fans already like you, so when they rate you positively or make you one of their favorite bands the more likely you'll show up in other people's recommended live music calendars. In addition, the more people who have you listed as a favorite the better your chances are to show up on our Austin Live Music = more exposure!
Why are there already events on my band's calendar that I didn't add?
Unlock Austin takes the initiative to populate as much of your page as we can for you. This helps to keep our info (and therefore your info) up-to-date. If you ever see a date that's wrong, please feel free to delete it. And don't forget to add any dates that we've missed!
