ACL TV Program – ACL Music Festival:
The American television’s longest running and award winning music concert program, Austin City Limits’ pilot episode featuring Willie Nelson was first aired on PBS across the country in 1976. Since then, the series has grown to showcase the best in American music and beyond: contemporary and traditional pop, rock, country, blues, bluegrass, roots and more.
The television show inspired the Austin City Limits Music Festival, an annual live music festival at Zilker Park in Austin. Thus the longest running musical concert program of American television helped to start one of the biggest live musical festivals on earth.

Austin City Limits Music Festival is an annual program at Zilker Metropolitan Park. The Zilker Park is a recreational area in South Austin. ACL music festival is scheduled for 14-16 September in 2007. Major metropolitan areas Dallas and Houston are each within a 3-hour drive of Austin and have no similar events.
ACL Music Festival – Quenching The Thirst Of Music Lovers:
ACL music festival is a park full of live musical performances for three days, with eight stages and featuring 130 bands. The festive experience makes this occasion more than just music or live music.
ACL not a 'greatest hits' showcase, but you have a sure chance to really see an artist doing material that more-commercial shows would never ‘allow' you to experience. It is a form of cultural diversity of live music genres, bands and performers.
You can enjoy great rock, country, folk, indie, Americana, hip-hop, reggae, and bluegrass and many other music. This festival attracts a crowd of about 65,000 visitors each day. The festival is produced by Capital Sports & Entertainment and Charles Attal Presents, who also co-produce the Lollapalooza festival.
In a very short time the Austin City Limits Music Festival joined Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Coachella as the United States’ premier rock festivals.

Getting PrintPass For ACL Music Festival:
Tickets for ACL music festival are available online here and offline. You can have a single day ticket for $80 and a three-day ticket for $145 only. This price has a surprise of ‘no service tax’, ‘no add on charges’ and ‘no hidden charges’.
I suggest to buy online as the PrintPass tickets will be emailed to your email id in a pdf file and you can print them. Because when bought offline, only tickets purchased directly through Front Gate are valid. This saves you the hassle of traveling to their office or $12 of postage charge.
The three-day pass is better as it is redeemed to a wristband at the gate and you have the flexibility to get in and out of the park. With single day pass, you are not allowed to re-enter once you had come out of the park.
ACL Music Festival Goes Green:
ACL Festival has become a Green Choice member through Austin Energy's Renewable Energy Program. ACL is doing its part by opting to buy "green power" for Zilker Park (energy from clean, renewable sources).
Some Necessary Information:
1. There will be no on-site parking. We strongly encourage you to use one of the various transportation alternatives.
2. Though the park is wheelchair accessible but due to the natural terrain, disabled persons should come with attendants.
3. Reserved parking slots are available for disabled persons and they should come with their State-issued-placards.
4. Each stage has front right portion reserved for seating purpose for disable persons.
5. Some items that you can take with you are – blankets, umbrellas (small hand-held style), soft-sided coolers, baby strollers, portable/collapsible chair (individual units only), regular-size/unframed backpacks, two factory sealed water bottles up to 1 liter each empty plastic container, ice in soft-sided cooler or Camelbak, binoculars, personal camera equipment (i.e. small digital cameras or point-and-click 35mm cameras).
6. Some of the prohibited items are – alcohol (can be bought inside), framed or large backpacks, glass containers, food or beverages, except for factory-sealed water bottles, skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles, bicycles inside Festival grounds (bike racks are available near each entrance), carts, large chains or spiked jewelry, large umbrellas, non-collapsible chairs, hard-sided coolers, tents, pets (except service dogs), video equipment, professional still camera equipment and audio recording equipment.
7. Wristbands are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be replaced. They cannot be removed and must be worn all three days to allow entry.
8. Let your youngster enjoy the festival but take advantage of free Tag-a-Kid service. Stop by the Tag-a-Kid booth where we will take down your contact information and give your child a specially numbered wristband. It will help in case of you are separated with you kid.
9. Tickets provide access to all Festival areas, including the music stages, Austin Eats Food Court, and SoCo Art Market.
