This is yet another example of their hidden genius. An outstanding recording and video of Graham and Russells everlasting talent. The DVD disc contains a beautifully produced, high quality, entertaining view of Air Supply in Grahams studio. This live acoustic performance is truly a remarkable work that displays their pure craft and love. Without a doubt, Air Supplys The Singer and The Song shows why this group continues to draw large crowds worldwide. The interviews and selected songs are great ! DVD is good CD is very bad at 2006-07-03
First of all im very upset because the one song i bought this for (Ill Find You) is not even on this CD and its suppose to be the 7th track, somebody really screwed up there. The DVD has all the tracks on it so buy it for that but not the CD side. I guess i will never find the song (Ill find you) on CD because the CD is out of print and everybody wants 50 dollars for the album. there are only 13 CD tracks just to let everyone know

great...mostly at 2005-04-06
The great songs are truly great. Sunset is one of the best ballads EVER. Never fade away is one of the most powerful songs by air supply, Russels voice near the end as the song builds up is incredible. (Interesting it is the only song Graham sings lead on- why?)I cant let go, great pioneer and just as i am are also incredible songs.Three tracks are a bit of filler- Sandy just does not seem to gel well with air supplys style and I wanna hold you tonight and make it right are a bit tuneless and forgetful. And why they didnt include crazy love the B-side of just as I am on the album is a complete mystery to me.

Holy Cow!!! at 2005-04-01
This album is absolutely amazing. I cant believe this once broke them up. It is an amazing album1-Just as I am- Amazing rock song.Great, different side to Air Supply2-Power of Love-Celine Dion cant come close to this version. Truly the best3-Cant let Go- Awesome. Not much at the start, but it really climaxes in the middle.4-After All-Oh man. Why wasnt this a single? It wouldve been #15-I Wanna Hold You Tonight- ahh, its alright. A little too shaky for me.6-Make it right- Couldve done without this one. The chorus isnt very pleasing to hear.7-When the Time is Right- They shouldve released this one as a single. Awesome melody. Almost tear-jerking. They shouldve called this on OH Jane instead of When the Time is Right8-Sandy- Not the soft sappy love song Id hoped for. Still pretty good though.9-The Great Pioneer- I like Air Supplys love songs, so this one was kind of flat to me10-Black and Blue-not a very good broken hearted song like I feel it shouldve been.Nice lyrics though11-Sunset-Classic Graham12-Never Fade Away- Just what I was hoping for . This has a soaring and very suspensful melody. This shouldve DEFINITLY been a single.

A great album from 85. Apparently, after they released this one, they started to lose fans. I dont know why... its their best 80s album, and one of their best albums of all time. Anyway, heres a little about each song...Just As I Am - Very upbeat, enjoyable song... Although I think Ive heard it too many times, its still a great song. The Power Of Love - Very nice version, and much better than Celines.I Cant Let Go - Starts out a little shaky, but once you get into it, a very impressive power ballad. After All - A little repetetive; this one was just filler, I think.I Wanna Hold You Tonight - One of my favorites! Very well done.Make It Right - Another of my favorites. A little harder than they usually do, but its amazing. When The Time Is Right - Starts out almost painfully sappy, but gets better about halfway into it.Sandy - An okay song. This one was probably filler, too.Great Pioneer - Very gung-ho, patriotic song. One of the better tracks on the CD.Black And Blue - Whats not to love? Great upbeat song.Sunset - A little slow... a ballad, really. An okay song.Never Fade Away - My other favorite on the CD. Great lyrics!

Arista Blew It! at 2003-11-12
With every band/artist that one likes there is always that one album that their label messed up on. Either the record label either released the wrong songs,or didnt release enough. (For the latter, see Ambrosias One Eighty.) In the case of Air Supply, this is the one that their label, did not,I repeat, did not, release enough singles. Here is the list of songs (in addition to Just As I Am) that would have been hits: After All (Powerful song) I Wanna Hold You Tonight When The Time Is Right and Never Fade Away I would have given the album five stars, but,I just do not care for the song, Power of Love. But,thats just me. Do yourself a favor, and get this CD. It is one hell of a pop album! (P.S.,If Air Supply were an up and coming new band, and this LP was released today...well,this thing would be HUGE!)

Gorgeous, Heartrenting, Cheering, Awesome, Spectacular at 2005-09-20
Every night since these discs arrived in the mail, I cant stop replaying this show. Not only the music, but also the message and sincerity of these gentlemen as indelled upon and within this DVD, seriously moves me. I wonder if there has ever been a live recording more meaningful, or quite as well-tuned than this? In Miracles I saw many years of a life marrowed into a single song -- a core performance. Russell Hitchcock, with abandon, empties his heart and visage into what might be the most gorgeous lyric and blend of melody and harmony ever yielded: and this written decidedly for Russell. Yet, somehow, these guys vicariously express whats ever been inside of me, that may too be heard as a pouring out of the heart of the pining that ages between adom and the Self Existing Power(s). I like the newer band members, and miss those previous--especially Frank Esler-Smith; his style and orchestral way. We do miss the duelling electric guitars too...and the organic-ness which emanates from an acoustic, well-tempered, grand piano. [Perhaps youd also wish to be aware that though the DVD hands over a dynamite presentation, the CD master was over compressed. ]

If you can only afford to buy one Live CD/DVD Wait for the offical It was 30 Years ago from Air Supply which is due to be released in July... However if you are like me.... I cant wait and picked up this one and then I will pick up the official one.... This cd/dvd is not mastered or mixed or whatever the correct terms are, very well, in alot of the dvd, the voice/instrument tracks dont line up with the video tracks, so when you watch them sing, thier lips dont match up with the words... and you can notice it in spots where the instuments dont quite line up either. Who ever worked on this the voices sometimes overshadow the instruments and vise versa, and in spots you can hear something almost like they sliced out bits and pieces on just the cd portion, yet on the dvd it isnt the same... Over all I do like the music just not found of the mixing. I just dont think who ever did this did not capture the true sounds of the concert... and when the official release of the true Air Supply Version comes out the quality will be there! If you can afford to buy both, I would! Like most AIRHEADS!! Chances are we Never Get Enough of Air Supply!

its alright i guess at 2006-07-09
I talked to Graham in Tunica Mississippi and he said that the Spaceman cover is a great collectors item, which is why I was glad I got him to sign it. Believe it or not, Russells voice has gotten very close to what it used to be, very close. A fellow Airhead who knows them better than I do said that he had a throat problem about 98 or 99, hince the low voice on Yours Truly but Ive seen them in concert 3 times and know Russell and Graham and the band, and believe the low strained voice on here is just the poor sound. You gotta remember live albums pick up every little thing that in concert youd never hear. Sure Making Love (out of nothing at all) sounded a little rough, but live he sounds perfect. Hes in his 50s so sure it aint exactly like the album, but its extremely close. If you really wanna hear them live, look at their tour information on Airsupplynowandforever.com and try to see them when they come near you. When they do Even the Nights are Better its identical to the cd. Their show has gotten alot better since that tour too. They still sound like theyre in their 20s when you REALLY see them live. You gotta remember that live cds, for lack of a better word, over exaggurate the slightest imperfection. Russell can still hit those notes.

Air Supply Live In Concert 30 years later... at 2005-09-21
...and it sure sounds like it! I just got done viewing this concert and was not dissapointed but felt the show was a little lacking. I am glad Graham introduced the electric guitar back into the show, but I wish he would have at least one more guitarist. I think Graham sounded great but Russell struggled a bit. Keeping in mind the boys are aging, I feel it is time to remove some of the songs from the show, ie; Making Love Out Of Nothing At All...Russell is just not able to perform this one any more. I would have liked to seen a few of the newer Air Supply tunes rather than all the hits...the newer music is more catered to Russells voice now. All in all not a bad show, I loved the segway between Shadow Of The Sun and Sweet Dreams. If I may recommend anything to you other than this album I recommend Grahams life long project The Heart Of The Rose an outstanding rock opera about the real Robin Hood. This project was a triumph for Graham. It is available on Air Supplys official website.

Love em or hate em, no one can argue that Air Supply wasnt one of the most prolific and popular soft-rock presences on the airwaves during the first half of the 80s decade. This group, or duo technically, of Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell had their lush and sometimes over-the-top productions consistantly occupy the top-5 for three years. Their tunes continued to appear on the charts less consistantly in the mid-80s but theres no denying the legacy they left. As popular as they were and still are to many, there are almost as many who despise their often syrupy, Spectorian in splendor, odes to love. They are second only perhaps to the Carpenters in the degree of love-hate they elicit from music listeners both now and in their heyday on the charts. If you are not a fan, then no collection of Air Supplys works would be of interest but for those who connect with these guys music, selecting from the myriad of CDs available is the challange. For those seeking a greatest hits-type package, there are many available, however in spite of the parade of domestic collections, titles such as ultimate and definitive notwithstanding, there are still no truly complete domestic packages. For whatever reason, every domestic collection leaves off at least one of their charted hits yet with 18 or so tracks available on a CD, one wonders who is making these decisions to drop legitimate singles for b-sides and the like. This Taiwanese import is one of the few packages that does in fact contain all the American top-100 hits, including the domestically-evasive Lonely Is The Night, Air Supplys last charting single. Beyond the American hit singles within the 36 tracks on two discs offered here are album cuts, Asian hits, a few Russell Hitchcock solo tracks and a few cuts from their Greatest Hits Live album. All in all, this represents about the best overview of Air Supplys music. Add in its decent sound quality and the substantial liner notes booklet with song-by-song commentary by Russell and Hitchcock, and you have the best overall package for these icons of 80s soft-rock and pop.

Comprehensive collection at 2005-04-08
Air supply were much bigger in America, where they had a string of big hits, than in Britain, where they had just two hits - All out of love made number eleven and Even the nights are better was a minor hit. Both of those made the top five in America, as did Lost in love, Every woman in the world, The one that you love, Here I am, Sweet dreams and Making love out of nothing at all. They had other hits in America too, including Two less lonely people in the world, Young love (an original song, not a cover of the rocknroll classic) and Just as I am, all included here. Their last American hit was Power of love, the song that was originally a massive hit in several European countries for Jennifer Rush (including number one in Britain where it charted at the same time as a completely different song with the same title by Huey Lewis) and was later an American hit for Laura Branigan. Celine Dion revived the song in the nineties and had a huge hit with it in both Britain and America. All the above-mentioned hits can be found on the first CD of this collection. The second CD includes the best of the rest of their music, showing that there was more to Air Supplys music than just the hits. For those of you that enjoy romantic pop music, this collection should be just ideal. Fans of Bread in particular should enjoy this.

Lost In Forever Love at 2004-04-21
This 2-disc Asian import is the most complete summary of Air Supplys ouvere, rendering The Definitive Collection and Ultimate Air Supply redundant by including all the bands Top 40 hits(Lost In Love,All Out Of Love,The One That You Love,Every Woman In The World,Sweet Dreams,Here I Am(Just When I Thought I Was Over You),Even The Nights Are Better,Making Love Out Of Nothing At All,Two Less Lonely People In The World,Young Love,Just As I Am)plus two of their last charting US singles(The Power Of Love,Lonely Is The Night)and those that were big hits in Asia(Goodbye,The Way I Feel). It also has choice album cuts from the Arista(Tonite,Chances,Come What May,Taking The Chance,I Can Wait Forever) and Giant(Too Sentimental,Always,Daybreak,Once,Yours Truly)periods that are on a pair with their biggest hits and has three fine songs from the impossible to find 1988 Russell Hitchcock solo album. It also has insightful track-by-track essays by Graham and Russell, assorted photos and lovely layout-and-cover art as well. While a fan favorite or two might be missing(i.e Keeping The Love Alive,Someone),Forever Love should for the most part satisfy both casual fans looking for a soild introduction to the 1980s soft-pop duo and diehard fans looking to complete their Air Supply collections.

Recycled + 1 new song at 2005-02-16
Made in USA in 2005, Serial# 82876-66934-2, Playing Time 63:06Honestly, I could write pages about whats on this CD, which basically only covers the 1980 to 1985 era, plus a new 2004 recording credited to Air Supply (but should in fact be credited to Graham Russell). If youre new to AIR SUPPLY, a very unexpensive way to get addicted; if youve got the albums from that era, I suggest you pass this up (play the song sample of track 14, Miracles, to make up your own mind...)There are already countless best of releases from this band, and I would suggest the 2003 Ultimate domestic release instead of this one...Then again, you can buy this CD for basically 1 new song!

air supply Album Review:
...Was thinking bout Miracles...when we were fast asleep at 2006-02-04
...and had a dream bout Russell Hitchcock...kid you not. This just this week, and made me think it high time I got on the schtick and threw another 5-star review on this site, already. Its nice to see the Russell boys included in this Love Songs series with the likes of a Harry Belafonte, Frank Sinatra and Roy Orbison, to name a few.As Air Supply retrospectives go, no other single-disc concisely captures their most-prominent recordings in a separate offering. Running-order is scrambled in order to keep the overexposed listener intrigued and satisfied. And what makes this disc worth the price of admission is inclusion of the newly-recorded track Miracles. The quality and presence of this song pays credence to the abundance of material released since the first half of the eighties, as it serves to enjoin these other essential 13 tracks with all that has come forth since.Songwriter Graham Russell has taken an ever-increasing number of lead-vocals during the past say decade and a half, as father time and one mother of a year-after-year touring schedule has its felt taken its toll on the once angelic voicings of Russell Hitchcock. Still, its hard to imagine the song Miracles being sung with any greater sincerity, appeal and conviction than it is in this current-day setting. Nobody, but nobody, sings a song like Russell Hitchcock. Its hoped that this continuum recording will entice both the new and casual listener to seek out other recordings from these intervening two decades, including and especially the first three Giant releases from the nineties. Its hoped as-well that the anticipated Essential Air Supply will include the lost 45 b-side Crazy Love, which now for as-well two decades has been shamelessly denied CD-format.And so, anyway, the dream finds Russell Hitchcock trudging his way past innumerable obstacles and finally into the endzone, only to be blindsided and thrown out-of-bounds, a blow the force of-which finds him not again getting up from. Its felt that Air Supply and Russell Hitchcock will hang-it-up when the strain outweighs the gain, and it is from that point onward and backward that we will be left these performances to marvel at, and a voice that is to be cherished at whatever age it is heard and thereafter enjoyably encountered.

80s hits plus one new song ! at 2005-02-16
I just wanted to bring up a point a previous reviewer made. They mentioned that the one new song Miracles should have been credited to Graham Russell and not Air Supply. Not sure why. The song is written by Graham and sung by Russell Hitchcock so it is a true Air Supply song through and through. Its a beautiful song that I had the privildge of hearing in concert and is worth the price of the CD alone. Air Supply made great music all through the 90s and are still doing so into the new millennium !

I flew all the way to Las Vegas from Tennessee just to see Air Supply, which is alot for a 14 year old. Im so glad they put Miracles on this one. I love that song. While some say that Russells voice has gone down, I say give the guy a break. Hes my hero, and I was lucky enough to meet him and Graham. Russell Hitchcock has one of the most humble, and kind human souls youll ever meet.He honestly wont boast if you compliment him on his singing, instead hell just say, and I quote Oh, Im no role model when it comes to being a singer, unquote. Im a very romantic kind of guy. A Love Songs compilation from my favorite band is a blessing from God. BUY THIS NOW!!! God bless Russell Hitchcock!!!

Some things we need to know some things we need to see at 2004-10-08
Wow, Ive read some interesting reviews here for Across The Concrete Sky, and I decided that I had to share my opinon about this CD too. If you are a true fan of Air Supply then you know that Russell and Graham are very different individuals who bring their amazing talents together to make their amazing sounds and music. ATCS is a different CD. It appeals to the Heart. It appealed strongly to my heart. When I first heard these songs sung live many of the songs put tears in my eyes. We Are All Children Covered in Mud...I hope that I never grow so old that I dont feel that inner child in me that always needs to be loved. We all need a Place Where We Belong. Finding our way in the world is not always easy...its comforting to know that we are not the only one that struggles with the feeling of wanting to belong. For several months my daughter and my grandchildren were missing. I played Ill Find You EVERY day until they returned. This song gave me strength to endure, it reminded me that love would remain even between the unseen faces of loved ones. I took great comfort from this song. How boring it would be if every artist sang every song exactly the same way every single time that they sang a song. I appreciate ATCS for the variety of songs and vocal ranges. I have listened to many many Las Vegas concerts and find that Russells voice is OUT of this world! And the sweet soft voice of Graham brings me a feeling of love and joy every time that I hear him. Air Supplys greatest legacy is their Legacy of Love...and Im glad for the several copies of this cd that I own and have given as gifts. Everyone can relate if they just listen to the words. You will draw meaning from every song and you will be deligted that you purchased Across The Concrete Sky!!

CONCRETE SKY .. CONCEPTUALMENTE ES DE LOS MEJORES QUE AIR SUPPLY HA HECHO... PERO A MI ENTENDER, TIENE ALGUNOS DETALLES:1)GRAHAM CANTA CASI TODOS LOS TEMAS.. LO CUAL NO ME PARECE PORQUE.. LO QUE DEFINE A AIR SUPPLY, ES LA VOZ DE RUSSELL. 2)LA VOCALISTA QUE INCLUYERON ES BUENA, PERO TIENE DEMASIADO PROTAGONISMO EN LOS TEMAS... LO QUE DESVIRTUA UN POCO, EL ESTILO DE LA BANDA. 3)NO ESTOY DE ACUERDO CON QUE GRAHAM ESCRIBA TODOS LOS TEMAS DEL ALBUM.. DEBERIA HABER CABIDA A CANCIONES DE OTROS COMPOSITORES. POR LO DEMAS, ME ALEGRA QUE RUSSELL HAYA RECOBRADO ALGO DE SU TIMBRE DE VOZ CONOCIDO, Y DE SU RANGO VOCAL... SE PUEDE NOTAR ESTO EN SHADOW OF THE SUN, Y FEEL LIKE SCREAMING .. DOS DE LOS MEJORES TRACKS DEL ALBUM... EL CUAL ES AL MENOS... MUCHO MEJOR QUE EL YOURS TRULY...SINCERAMENTE ESTE ULTIMO, ES PARA OLVIDARLO...ý SALUDOS...ý

a must have CD at 2004-06-27
There are not enough adjectives in the world to describe this! This CD is absolutely incredible. I cant believe these guys are still going strong after all these years, and it only seems that they get better and better. This kicks off with the unique and astounding Shadow Of The Sun. This song is thoroughly amazing, and I have no idea how, but they say its even better live. Big Cat is an upbeat, jazzy song, something really interesting and different. Love Is The Arrow is awesome, I really love the verses. We Are All Children is a bit awkward at first, but once you get into it, its not that bad. Its chorus is almost like a lullaby. On A Place Where We Belong and Feel Like Screaming (on every song actually), those guys voices sound fantastic. Its hard to believe theyre in their 50s. I Want You has such a simple, very pretty melody. Who doesnt like a good sha-la-la song? I was surprised by the power of Come To Me, its just amazing! You Belong To Me is a very uplifting and enjoyable tune. But I would have to say my favorite is Ill Find You. I have never heard Grahams voice sound so good. So many songs on here I wish that they would make into singles. I strongly reccommend this CD, even if you are not a fan, because it is so different from EVERYTHING theyve done before! Expect the unexpected!

I first heard of Air Supply via their contribution on the Ghostbusters soundtrack, I Can Wait Forever. That was a nice piano ballad with a sizzling rock guitar and strings during the chorus, with highlighted by Russell Hitchcocks Dennis DeYoung or Mickey Thomas-like vocals, depending how high he decided to sing. That song isnt on The Ultimate Air Supply, which contains all their Top 40 hits. After that, it was Just As I Am from their self-titled 1985 album, which reached #19. This was the time they were on the decline, although they still fared well on the Adult Contemporary charts. A similar style, but not as good as I Can Wait Forever. I also learned they did Jennifer Rushs The Power of Love before her own version charted the following year. Not a bad version, even though it bombed at #68, but it hit #13 on the AC charts. What Id missed before was a string of Top Five singles starting with Lost In Love. This #3 hit demonstrated the veritable team of singing duo Graham Russell, with the lower-ranged voice, which were heard on the verses, and Russell Hitchcocks higher ranged vocals, which sang the choruses, gentle guitars and strings, harmonies, and in this song, a few spacey synths. In other words, this was radio-friendly easy love songs or lost love pop a la latter day Chicago or Melissa Manchester for the Adult Contemporary charts, where it spent 6 weeks at #1.All Out of Love, their next venture, was better, spending 4 weeks at #2, kept away from the top by Diana Rosss Upside Down and Queens Another One Bites The Dust. The emotional strings may be overblown in the final sections, but it helps the song, and my enjoyment. Chartwise, this was the 18th biggest hit of 1980, while Lost In Love was the 25th the same year.Though not a single, Chances could easily have been a single, especially with the sad and soaring strings, and an electric guitar in the instrumental bridge. Vulnerable is how Graham Russell describes it, and thats how I feel. The romantic #5 Every Woman In The World has a sweetness that may be described as sentimental mush, but at least there is a balance in the lines youre my fantasy/youre my reality. And its #2 peak on the AC charts attest to that mush. However, it was their next single, The One That You Love, the title track from their second album, that reached #1 in 1981 (and #2 AC) being the 16th biggest hit that year. The give me another chance motif of the song is highlighted in the choruss Here I am the one that you love/asking for another day/understand the one that you love/Loves you in so many ways. From the same album was the #5 (#1 for 3 weeks on AC) Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You), which is the closest to I Can Wait Forever, except with more soaring strings.Their next two singles also hit #5, Sweet Dreams and one of my faves, Even The Nights Are Better, which was 4 weeks atop the AC charts. The string orchestration on the chorus provides a catchy swaying hook I enjoy. Then their Top 5 streak was shattered with two consecutive #38s, Young Love and the romantically optimistic Two Less Lonely People In The World, which accordingly to Graham Russell became a wedding anthem of the 80s, not bad when the cynicism of the 70s, of marriage as a no-longer solid institutional was still lingering. But Air Supply managed to pull off a final big hit, my favourite AS song, the Jim Steinman-composed Makin Love Out of Nothin At All, whose overblown operatic backing vocals and instrumentation made stars out of Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler (who ironically did this on her Free Spirit album, and whose version I first heard before ASs). Its the E Street Bands Professor Roy Bittan on piano and Max Weinberg doing the thundering drums that herald the second verse on this 3 weeks at #2 hit, the 22nd biggest hit of 1983.Though eclipsed by the momentous year of 1984 by big hit albums, Air Supply provided a last gasp of breathable romantic easy pop radio ballads with their consecutive seven Top 5 hits from 1980 to 1982.

The Only Collection Youll Ever Need at 2005-04-09
Air Supply (aka Australian blokes Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock) was without a doubt one of the best bands of the 1980s. With their sleek ombination of soft rock and grand rigeur power ballads, they were a big hit both critically as well as commercially (a big feat for many 1980s bands) and Ultimate Air Supply proves thei mark on music history is still intact.Despite having a few big hits in their native Australia in the 1970s, Air Supply had their first internation success in 1980 with their album Lost In Love. Selling millions of copies and yielding big hits in the smooth title track, the heartwrenching All Out Of Love and the wedding perennial Every Woman In The World, it put Air Supply on the map both with critics and the public.Their second album, The One That You Love, proved to be an even greater success, yielding three hit including their only number one, the title track, as well two additional top five hits in the Barry Manilow - esque Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You) and the sweeping Sweet Dreams. They suffered a noticable drop in sales with the release of their 1982 album Now And Forever. Which is not to say the album isnt good. It yielded yet another top five hit and one of their best songs in Even The Nights Are Better as well as great minor hits such as Young Love and Two Less Lonely People In The World (the latter another wedding favorite).Air Supply rebounded with a Greatest Hits album released in 1983. It sold over four million copies and yielded a number two smash in the intense Jim Steinman power ballad Making Love Out Of Nothing At All, which to me is their best song.1985s eponymous album supplied Air Supply with their last significant hit, Just As I Am, which made the lower section of the top twenty. It is also noticable for the track The Power Of Love. This song was first recorded by Jennifer Rush, who had a big hit with it virtually everywhere except America. Then Air Supply released it in America, where it became their first single to miss the top sixty. Then the late Laura Branigan released it in America in 1987, and she took it into the top 30. But hte most famous (and definitve) version of the song was Celine Dions version, which toopped the charts in the U.S. for six weeks. Are we clear? (And, for the record, Air Supplys version is pretty good, too). The last few tracks from their album are from their early 1990s reunion. In this half of the album, they take a great stab at the Harry Nilsson classic Without You (its tied with Mariah Careys as third best, after Nilssons number onehit recording and the 1977 recording by Heart, which I havent actually heard yet but I bet is good). Goodbye and the haunting Someone bring the album full circle and look ahead toward the future of this great group.Ultimate Air Supply also does a fine job at collecting some of their best album tracks that werent ever singles, such as I Want To Give It All, Chances and the eerie Dont Be Afraid, the last of which is now considered a tribute to their late arranger Frank Elser-Smith and has killer harmonies. The bottom line is that no cd collection in my opinion would be complete without Ultimate Air Supply. I recommend it to anyone who has a taste in music or just wants something they could relax to on a long overnight drive or if they want to take a nap. And even if you dont need it for these things, just buy it.

The booklet features all the lyrics.Disc 2 is a video CD (which comes with its own Sony Videopress Player) containing 3 videos, plus a video of Lost In Love recorded in concert with a string orchestra. Playing time of disc 2 is about 17 minutes. Most of ASs famous hits are here (check out the japanese pressing for a listing of the 17 tracks), and some of the versions included are a bit unexpected: Making Love... is the extended remix version, while Now And Forever is the 1995 re-recorded studio version from Greatest Hits Live (yes, a studio version included on a live album!).Enjoyable from start to finish, and a good deal compared to the other edition.

A Valiant Effort at 2006-07-06
I was not dissapointed with this album at all. The album delivered with some very solid tracks. A few filler songs were found on the album, but all in all this this was a fine Air Supply album. These guys have been putting albums out about every two years for 30 odd years now, some hit...some dont. This one hit. Its worth getting. If your a fan of 80s Air Supply this album may not be the best one to get as the boys have gotten older and Russells voice has changed quite a bit. He still sounds good but you wont recognize him as the same singer, but I assure you he is ;)

Ther are alot of bands that try to put out new albums that really suck. Air Supply aint one of them. This is amazing. Sure they sound different, but the love and harmony is still there. I strongly suggest songs like The Scene,Who Am I?, Dont Throw Our Love Away, and the heart breaking Hard to Forget Her. Buy this one. It is really amazing. Dont be picky, just listen to it for what it is... pure GENIUS

Im sitting here reading some of the reviews , and one review actually started with the word Horrible. Yours Truly , in my opinion , which you may tell me to shove , is one of their finest works to date. Now I have been an AirHead since the eighties , at the begining. I mean Russell was my idol. I wanted to be him , but lets call a spade a spade , voices deepen and change with age...hello!!! Theyre not 20 anymore , and I guess it would have been nieve to put on this cd and expect the vocal range of Making love out of nothing at all , but I thought Russells voice shined on Tell me of Spring and If You Love Me. People are actually saying this album isnt as good as Book of Love , and to that I say PLEASE!!!! You cant compare the two. Just listen to Dont throw our love away , or Yours Truly. I will admit , that The Vanishing Race was an exceptional album , but I thought Too sentimental was a bit high and jackson 5 ish....If I am being honest...They have yet to touch their 85 self titled, in my opinion , the best CD theyve ever done, but yours truly deffinitely deserves a listen. I gave it four stars because the 5 star prize goes to the 85 self titled

What happened??? at 2003-04-08
I was very excited to learn that Air Supply had a new album out, and I ordered it immediately...but the only thing that is like the Air Supply I used to love was Graham Russells voice.I agree with those who say that Russell Hitchcock voice is gone. It seems that his soaring vocals are a thing of the past; He now sounds like Steve Miller with a sinus infection. The reviewer who, based on Hitchcocks clear vocals, said that The Scene sounds like it was recorded some years ago and just placed on this album may be on to something. The copyright date on all of the other songs is either 2000 or 2001. The copyright date on The Scene is....1998!!! Could it be that it was a leftover from the Book Of Love sessions?Anyway, at the price that amazon.com is offering right now, it is worth picking up this album only if you are a completist. Otherwise, you might want to pass on it.

This re-issue of Air Spplys 1981 album, The One That You Love is a highly impressive collection. I own the bulk of their catalog from the early days to the present. This release is one of their finest. There is not a bad song on this disc. The opener, Dont Turn Me Away is an uptempo track that proves they can handle rockers as well as ballads. Many fantastic ballads are found throughout. I Want To Give It All, Tonite and Ive Got Your Love are some of their finest moments in terms of melody. Combine these three gems with three top-5 five singles (Sweet Dreams, Here I Am, The One That You Love) and you have an outstanding album. Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock are at the top of their game vocally and there is lush orchestration on every track. And with the superb remastered sound quality, you simply cant go wrong. Highly Recommended.R. Mayer E-mail: Audiophile22@aol.com

A very good CD! Air Supplys second album in the US (sixth album total), this showcases their many talents. They have skills from the ballads like I Want To Give It All and The One That You Love to the more upbeat songs like Sweet Dreams and This Heart Belongs To Me. Keeping The Love Alive and Here I Am are kinda sappy (okay, really sappy), but theyre just so... you know. This album reached #2 on the charts, and included many Top Five Hits. Not to mention the title track, which became their only #1 hit. Worth a listen!

Of every album they have ever released, this ýwTHE ONE THAT YOU LOVEýxhas been being the best album for me. the reasons are various..beauty of their harmony..RUSSELs impressive voice..high quality of the songs..beautiful front cover design(JAPANESE version CD). specifically, Here I Am is the one of the finest song i have ever listened to(unfortunatery, this song is NOT AIR SUPPLYs original. this one is NORMAN SALEETs composition). I Will Never Get Enough Of You is also romantic ballad and it was used for main theme of the TV drama in JAPAN 1983 and it became top 10 hit at the same time! and ofcourse, many other great songs are in this album. although I guarntee that almost all AIR SUPPLY album give listener a beautiful music,if I am forced to choose 1 album of AIR SUPPLY for my recommendation, I would choose this album.

I am getting married this year and each of us is bringing one child into our new family. I found this song to be perfect for the ceremony as we give gifts to the girls and acknowledge all of us uniting in family. If you know of anyone doing something very special where children are involved, recommend this song.

A Christmas Album good for any Christmas occasion at 2004-05-31
They say when you put out a Christmas Album that is good, you can make your mark on the music industry for years to come. Air Supply had already accomplished much in the music industry, and The Christmas Album helps solidify their standing in the industry. As far as Christmas albums go, this is a very good one that offers a modern pop angle on popular Christmas songs. In addition, this album is boosted by two new Christmas songs written by Graham Russell and performed by Air Supply. There are 10 songs on this album. In addition to the 2 new Air Supply songs, there are 8 traditional Christmas favorites. The 8 songs are White Chrismas, The First Noel, The Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night, The Christmas Song, Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, and OCome All Ye Faithful. This is sort of a mixed blessing on this album. From one standpoint you will get to hear Air Supply perform a Christmas favorite without damaging the integrity of the song. The other standpoint is not these songs again!. Although Graham Russell and Russell Hitchock do a tremendous job at performing these songs, it is disappointing that they didnt pick some songs that arent quite as mainstream as these. Regardless, these songs are perfect for Graham and Russells voices. The other nice thing is that their performances on this album are really suitable for almost any occasion. I wouldnt hesitate to pop this CD on Christmas Eve or even Christmas Morning while opening presents. The two best songs on the album are Sleigh Ride and Winter Wonderland. Both songs make use of both Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcocks vocals trading off. I always think Air Supply is at its best when both Graham and Russell are doing vocals in a song. In both songs, each contains a nice chorus of background vocals and some nice musical effects to really create a Christmas mood. The duo also performs White Christmas and I think that even Bing Crosby would be proud of the job that Russell Hitchcock does on vocals. On White Christmas it has a 1940s type of feel to it still. In The Little Drummer Boy Graham Russell does a great job at lead vocals for the whole song while Russell Hitchcock take the role of background vocals (it is always good to see Graham Russell on lead vocals). The two new songs are really good and could easily stand on their own as Christmas Classics. The Eyes of a Child follows a classic Air Supply vocal pattern - Graham Russell starting off on lead vocals, Russell Hitchcock coming in with vocals on the chorus, then a (slight) crescendo toward the end. Russell Hitchcock takes the lead vocals on Love is All and really gets a chance to showcase those incredible vocals. Love is All has a more classic Air Supply crescendo (larger) toward the end of the song. The liner notes in the CD are good. Full credits are given to the studio musicians. The lyrics to the new songs are also included. There are a few pictures of Graham and Russell with some children. It is also worth knowing that Graham and Russell are co-producers on this album along with Michael Lloyd and I think the personal touch on the production gives this album a boost. In a nutshell, this is a good Air Supply album and this is a good Christmas album. Youll only play it during the month of December and you might get tired of it by Christmas eve, but by next December you will want to pop it into your CD player again.

Good harmonies and good selection at 2002-12-10
When I first listened to this CD last year, I was inclined to dismiss it as an okay CD with probably boy band appeal. This year though, Ive listened with new ears, so to speak, and like what I hear. The two original songs are very good, The Eyes Of A Child being especially appealing. The harmony here of the two singers is notable and enhances each familiar song including my personal favorites, The Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night and The Christmas Song. Really, there arent any that I call losers here. This is very good but, in my mind, similar enough to other CDs such as those from 98 Degrees, Lonestar, etc., that it doesnt hit the very top mark. It is however, a most satisfying collection and I recommend it.

Misleading title at 2005-03-17
As an Air Supply fan from the beginning, I have been looking for years for a definitive hits collection that includes every song of theres to crack the Billboard Hot 100. I used to own their Greatest Hits which was issued in 1988, but it left off key tracks including: Young Love, Two Less Lonely People in the World, Just as I Am, The Power of Love (You are my Lady), and Lonely is the Night. Then this collection came along which did include Young Love, Two Less..., and Just as I Am. In a sense I guess it is definitive in that it includes all of the songs to make the Top 40. However, it leaves off the singles that did not make the Top 40: The Power of Love which peaked at #68 and Lonely is the Night which peaked at #76. Since this release, they have put out another hits compilation called Ultimate Air Supply which is still not a complete collection because it still leaves off Lonely is the Night. If you are looking for a true, definitive collection, the only on Amazon is an import that sells for $24.49, which seems a bit steep. I am gonna stick with this one that has all of the Top 40 hits, and try to download those other 2 songs. If you are looking for just the Top 40 hits, this collection will suffice.

Air Supply still has plenty of Supply Left at 2004-05-29
Hearts in Motion has become a lost Air Supply album. This is a shame because while it might not be the strongest Air Supply album, it does not deserve relegation to bargain bins or imports. In fact, the CD I have has a completely different cover than the import version here. (Ths original CD cover has a sharp dressed Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock sitting on a white sofa). There is some really good stuff on this CD and it is worth trying to get. An interesting twist to this CD has Air Supply bringing in Bernard Edwards to work his magic as a producer. Edwards was a mastermind behind Chic. Following Chic, Edwards was one of the most sought after producers of the 80s - producing many others such as Diana Ross, Robert Palmer, and Missing Persons. Following a commercial disappointment in the United States with Air Supply (self titled), Air Supply brought Edwards in as a producer (for all but 2 tracks) Joining Edwards on this effort was his fellow Chic mate - drummer Tony Thompson. Of course Edwards plays his legendary bass on many of the tracks. However, for whatever reason - this album sold even less than the Air Supply album. Finally, another legend - Diane Warren songwrites 2 tracks. My feeling is that when this album was released, things were changing in the music industry. The beginnings of Hip Hop and Alternative Rock were surfacing. Heavy-Metal was becoming more and more mainstream. Air Supply was seen as too Adult Contemporary and possibly too sappy, so a backlash was developing agains them. It was very unfair because Air Supply was far from being done in the music industry. This album continues to showcase Graham Russells songwriting, Russell Hitchcocks incredible vocals, and in general the great synergy that has existed between the duo. This album also does a nice job at showcasing Graham Russells vocals - that often get forgotten since Russell Hitchocks vocals are just so powerful. The strongest tracks are the first three tracks. The best track is the opener - Its Not Too Late. Its a shame this album wasnt promoted better because this is an incredible track. It is a catchy song that starts out with Graham singing the first verse, then in classic Air Supply fashion Russell Hitchcock joins at the chorus. Its Not Too Late is a very well written song by Graham in terms of both lyrics and music. The next song is a Diane Warren one - Lonely is the Night. This was the first single released and is a nice song - not as good as the opening track. It is worth noting that Lonely is the Night was one of the songs not produced by Edwards. Finally, another good catchy song is the third track Put Love in Your Life. Like the opening track it does give Graham Russell a chance to showcase while Russell Hitchcock folds the chorus in very nicely. The other thing that is interesting is that early 80s Air Supply really did a good job at building songs up to an ultimate crescendo. There still are crescendos on this album that are very much worth hearing - Lonely is the Night, Put Love in Your Life, Time for Love, and Stars in Your Eyes. Its almost a surprise to me that the best song Its Not Too Late doesnt have the crescendo at all. A clear indication that Air Supply has plenty of good music left. The other thing is that although Tony Thompson is the drummer, Thompson really isnt utlized that great. Tony Thompson might be one of the most underrated drummers in the history of the music business. When he was brought in with Robert Palmer and the Taylors for Power Station, he was the difference maker with some ferocious drumming. While Thompson doesnt do a poor job on this album, he isnt the big difference maker on this album. His best track seems to be is contribution to Heart and Soul. This isnt a knock on Thompson or Air Supply - perhaps Air Supplys brand of music just isnt going to give Thompson the stage to shine as much. As for Edwards, he does a nice job as producer - but he doesnt raise the bar of Air Supply any further. Liner Notes are pretty good. Lyrics are included in my version of the CD as well as the appropriate songwriting credits. Overall, this is still a good CD. No it isnt a Hall of Fame CD by any means. It WILL be a CD that once you get it - you will listen to it. If you are an Air Supply fan, you will want this CD. Its probably a 3 1/2 star CD moreso than a 3 Star one.

MY hearts going into motion!! at 2003-03-01
When I bought this album I instantly fell in love with it... it quickly became one of my favorites. Most of the songs are great. Though they occasionally get painfully syrupy (*cough* Id Die For You), I am willing to forgive as long as they keep doing stuff like Lonely Is The Night and Its Not Too Late. Heart And Soul is sooo cool. Hope Springs Eternal is a truly original work, with its beautifully haunting refrain that has a tendency to get stuck on my head. The only song I did not like was Id Die For You. Oh please. What a dumb song. Ah, but my friends, thats why theres the little button that says skip! I first bought bought the LP for this and later transferred it onto CD. (Still have the LP... it is displayed next to the LP for their 1985 Air Supply.) Its Not Too Late has words that are so very true of my life, it seems like it was written about me... though, obviously, it wasnt... anyways...PS, This album goes hand-in-hand with Air Supply(1985). I suggest you buy it as well for you will enjoy them both!

Definitly a great cd from Air Supply, I remember when I bought the vinyl when it was originally released back in 1986, and it inmediately became my favorite (I still have the vinyl) then I bought the cd in 1991, I dont know why is not available for sale, and either why it doesnt have his originall cover. If anyone wants it, Id be happy to share it, cos this cd must be heard... The best songs are: Lonely is the night, Stars in Your Eyes, Time For Love and One More Chance

Its alright at 2005-03-12
Im a fan of Russell and his up tempo, emotion sparking ballads. This is a great album if youre a fan of Graham. I couldnt get interested in it, except for, So much Love, but I can only listen to that one so much. Still a pretty good LP though

Ahhh... at 2003-03-21
One of my favorites from AS! This has got to be their most relaxing album. So Much Love is fantastic. Their soothing voices just make you want to breathe deeply and close your eyes! I really love the song Once, the piano is great. Some people say Russell is losing his beautiful voice. I say he just gets better and better! After listening to the mournful Daybreak, I hope youll agree with me. Lets Stay Together Tonight is really worth listening to, despite its length of almost eight minutes. Stress? Forgotten. Worry? Relieved. Kick off your shoes, put your feet up and immerse yourself in the pages of The Book Of Love!

A BIG five stars. at 2001-08-16
Strangely, this must be the best album made by the the Air Supply singers/songwriter. It takes a lot of meditation to merge the gritty world of today, with the popish beauty of 1980. On this record, every song is desirable. The songwriter continues to message his truth that giving love is all. Only one song has a vocal track slightly nearing flat - but lets not forget, vocals beneath the wings of some other singers could sound as good (yet bette on worse.) Russell Hitchcocks vocals have an extraordinarily pleasant raspy quality to them here, that are either miked perfectly, or mixed well, and rarely heard like this. The Kurzweil piano on once could use a little reverb. Very nice to hear from Rex Goh again.

ONE OF MY FAVORITES FROM AIR SUPPLY at 2000-10-04
Although A.S. has many hit albums, this one happens to be my favorite. Daybreak and When I Say are two outstanding pieces I never tire of listening to. Both the lyrics and music haunting. Mother Said has very unusual lyrics one might well relate to if they ever lost a mother to illness. If you like Air Supply, dont miss this one!

Awesome, but I prefer their earlier works at 2000-02-07
This album is great but I prefer their earlier works. My favourites in this album are strong, strong wind, daybreak, and most of all, lets stay together tonight. Lets stay together tonight is a song really worth listening to. Incredible performance by Russell, I can listen to it again and agian!

Uhhh, Couldve been better at 2005-03-12
It was alright. The mixing is a little off.The sound quality isnt what it couldve been,. I wish they wouldve miked the audience better. I missed songs like Here I Am and Even the Nights Are Better. It just seems kind of low budget. But Russell Hitchcock is still my hero. He can do no wrong.Keep stirring the heart guys. God Bless Yall
