The Damnations TX Album Review:
A great example of Austin music at 2004-08-27
A great mix of traditional country with punk soul, this CD is one of my favorite examples of Austin Music. These sisters harmonize beautifully and although it has an overall melancholy feeling, it kicks ass at times and gets your foot stomping. I actually like their first album Half Mad Moon a little better, but this one is definitely worth adding to your collection as well.

Great True Country Tunes at 2003-07-26
THis is an excellent CD. THe damnations have great harmony sparkled by the sweet voice of the female lead singer. It is true country with great sounds and lyrics - none of this pop country stuff, and it sounds great. Definately worth the buy.

Upstaged the Meat Puppets at 2004-04-23
Saw these guys open for the new Meat Puppets at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC a couple years ago and bought the CD at the show. I know its long overdue review, but Half Mad Moon still finds its way to my CD player at least once or twice a month, which is a hell of a testament to its charm, infectioness and staying power. This album is a classic. No Sign Of Water is pure beauty.

This CD rocks!! at 2002-05-31
Such a great blending of voices in this group! And so versatile --folky at times, raucous at others, bluesy as well. And the lyrics are anything but banal --from a lament for a stolen amplifier to baying at a Half Mad Moon....I only wish the liner notes had included lyric sheets.

Great songs. Great voices. Great playing. Like a fine record should, it gets better every time you play it.

The Damnations TX Album Review:
trust me on this one at 2000-05-24
A friend of mine kept on and on about this band and this album. After he forced it on me time and again I got hooked and listen to it at least once a week. I am a huge music fan who likes all kinds of bands. This album really sounds great. The various instruments blend well. Vocals are soothing and the lyrics are smart and gritty. Seeing the band live in Houston was some what of a let down after hearing Half Mad Moon, but Ill give them another chance someday if they make it to my neck of the woods.
