Mitch Watkins Album Review: May all your sorrows pass. at 2005-08-10 Id never heard of Mitch Watkins until id heard a track of his on London(UK) jazzf.m. radio station in 1993. The d.j. David Freeman played the track May all your sorrows pass at around 1.00 a.m. The song stirred me and brought more than just a tear to my eye as well as touched my heart as i was experiencing a major bereavement in my own family. The emotional impact of this song is strong if you really meditate on is arrangement.(the use of the tabla drum as the only accompaniment for this song is a wonderful idea) The melody stayed with me for days..its haunting (as is the rest of the album). I went and bought the c.d on the strength of this song alone but was pleasantly surprised to discover the dreamy tones and wistful melodies are displayed throughout the c.d. I bought it for a phenomenal price as a Japanese Import but you can purchase it here for a minimal cost. Buy this one if you are a lover of wistful lyrical guitar playing as with Bill Frisell and Pat Metheny.
Mitch Watkins Album Review: Awesome at 2004-05-20 Mitch is a very under rated musician. this is an awesome album. i first heard mitch play with Bob Schneider. So, if u like this stuff....you should definately check out some Bob Schneider, or his other band The Scabs
