Kelly Doze, tonite at..... The One To One Club. This little songbird, will delight you with soul music, and R and B. cover songs and originals.. Look out aretha Franklin.. Guarenteed to wash away the rainy day blues. Last week Malford Milligan showed up and enriched the evening with his powerful voice. You never know who is going to pop up on stage at Kelly's Venues..
At The Saxon Pub, On November 4th, I sat and visited with Kelly Doze for awhile before she went on stage. We talked about the days when she first started out her career, in a cover band, called The Soul Masqurade. Kelly played with them for 3 years, before joining one of Austins Premeier Cover Bands- The Grooves., this is where, I first met Kelly Doze, A beautiful, tiny, petite, gorgeous blonde in her early 20s'. I was amazed by her beauty, but also by the sound of her soulful voice, coming from such a small female. During Kellys' time with the Grooves, she began to write, and produce her own music. Three years later, she formed The Kelly Doze Band. On Kellys' first CD she collaborated with Malford Milligan(Storyville), who not only helped write songs, but actually sang backup on her CD. Kellys first CD was self titled- Kelly Doze, her second Cd was Titled -Define Me. Kelly plays at venues all over Austin, Ringside, Saxon Pub, Boomerz, Speakeasy, iron Horse Pub. Kelly will be playing tonite November 11th at Reeds Super Club, and at Club One To One on November 15th. While, I was talking to Kelly tonite, she told me she had a new manager, King James K inney, www.myspace.com/hearkingjames, he is from out of New York City, He's a hip hop/accoustic soul artist that tours with The Roots, Jamie Cullum, Ben Taylor (James Taylor's son), Joss Stone, India Iree from John Cougar. At this time Kelly is working on a new CD focused on R & B, and Rthymic Beats and will not be setting up any tours until the third CD is ready for release, maybe sometime in January or February. In January she will be in Amsterdam, and after that plans to set up tours in NYC, The East Coast, and West Coast. If your out in Austin, take a chance, and go see The Kelly Doze Band, I promise, you will be adding them to your calendar, and going back for more..
