Electronic music is the name of the game for The Disciples of Groove, which is literally a one man band. One of the original founders, Scott Kinnebrew decided to keep the name after several other The Disciples of Groove members departed, and now singlehandedly creates a certain fusion of styles. Not taking a 'normal' approach to electronic music, The Disciples of Groove can't seems to stick to one certain sub-genre of electronica.
Playing with a number of bands which ranged from metal to pop to indie-rock, Scott and his group at the time, "Gibbering Mouther," moved to Austin in 1994.
In early 1995, Scott did a few stints as a DJ in Austin clubs. Scott, known as "DJ Scooter" at the time, began spinning at local raves, and competing in the first annual "Foundations of Groove" DJ contest.
Now, a few years later, Scott Kinnebrew has resurrected The Disciples of Groove as a musical creation machine fueled by an itch to create music that will move the crowd.
Scott Robinson, head of Valonium records writes,"A one-man bass-popper, Scott Kinnebrew deserves his day in the sun."
