album coverChristopher Gray, writing in The Austin Chronicle, said Hug's album Lickable is, ?So far over the top it's all the way back on the bottom, Lickable is essential only for those who let their subscription to Screw lapse, are barred from the neighborhood adult bookstore, or are in need of therapy. Lots of therapy.? That seems like as good a description of this band as anything MusicAustin could come up with, so there you are: Hug is all about raunchy.
Previous experience with other bands would indicate that the group members are, in fact, adults, and one can only wonder why they are still writing music about commodes. However, considering that the first incarnation of this band called itself Your Mother's Snatch, they have really matured as a group and have reached astounding new levels. Guitarist Jack Hug played with a post-punk group called No Trend previously. Casioist Scott Van Hug previously acted in Slacker, and vocalist Blair Hug completes the band.
