Kicks are for Kids features Ellis Marsalis on piano, Fred Sanders on piano, JJ Johnson on drums, and Edwin Livingston on bass.

His second album, For the Moment, is fresh and rich and shows off his improvisational skills. Fred Sanders, JJ Johnson, and Edwin Livingston completed the band on this album. This album came out in 1995 and took Haslanger onto the national charts.

Standards was Elias Haslanger's 1994 debut as a soloist. This great album was recorded in five hours, with only one take per song. The CD features James Polk, Jeff Haley, and Steve Schwelling.
