Boxcar Preachers are a string band, playing old-timey tunes complete with jug and banjo. Their first album, Spindletop Strike!, released in 2003, is alternately hilarious and downright impressive singing and playing. The Boxcar Preachers are Craig High on jug, washboard, jew harp and vocals; Bruce Gardner on vocals, guitar and mandolin, Korey Simeone on vocals, violin and dobro; Ryan Gould on bass; Marty Mitchell on bass and vocals.

Many of the songs on Spindletop Strike! were written by either Gardner or Simeone, but there are traditional numbers as well. Don't miss the original "Vasectomy Song" or "Jessie's Bones."
