Naturally, his first training was in flamenco and classical guitar styles. Upon returning to the United States, his curiosity for other musical idioms led him to the sounds and rhythms of jazz, folk, and popular music. He continued his formal training in classical guiatr with Anne Waller at Northwestern University, earning his Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar performance. Colin can be heard in many different musical situations in and around Chicago. He has been featured as a soloist in the Newberry Festival of the Arts, the Taste of Chicago, Gejas Cafe, and the Elgin Symphony. He has performed live on radio stations, commercials, jingles, and on national television. His guitar playing has been showcased in the musicals Always Patsy Cline (Apollo Theater) and HAIR (Athenaeum and Arie Crown). Colin is the guitar player in Kevin ODonnells Quality 6 (Belmark artist) called by New City as some of the best music made in the city, and in Andrew Birds Bowl of Fire (Rykodisc artist). In addition to contributing to other new artist recordings, Colin has recorded three albums under his own name. The most recent, Tierra Del Fuego, (Hot Cross Records) features original freestyle instrumentals and contemporary folk songwriting.
