Singer/guitarist John Saba borrows the name of a Texas county for this straight-ahead, five-piece, alt country band. They released Easy Does It in 2004.
Elizabeth Nottingham is the band's drummer, Chris Wellington plays banjo, electric guitar, and the crowd-favored accordion, Shawn Slack plays bass, and Richard McLaughlin plays fiddle.
You can catch San Saba County on a weekend night at the Carousel Lounge, Beerland, Ego's and the Saxon playing a little bluegrass, a bit of zydeco, some indie-rock, plenty of alt-country and a whole lot of roots sounds.
