In his first post-Grammy recording effort, Ruben Ramos - El Gato Negro - released A Class Act. With a masterful mix of good ol' Tejano, some smooth Latino mixed in and a nod to a classic Mexican sound.
A Texas native from Sugarland, Ruben Ramos and his band, The Texas Revolution, have reached the top in the Tejano music category. He stands at the head of a long family legacy of music, bands, and extraordinary talent. The story of that legacy is detailed on his Web site.
The Billboard Guide to Tejano and Regional Mexican Music said, "Ruben Ramos has developed a solid reputation as one of the smoothest singers and classiest bandleaders in the history of the genre." His achievements include: Grammy Winner (1999 for Los Super Seven), he was inducted into the Pura Vida Hall of Fame and into the Tejano music Hall of Fame, and he is a Multiple Tejano Music Award recipient. He released Tejanisimo in 1998.
