Ruben Ramos Bio:

In his first post-Grammy recording effort, Ruben Ramos - El Gato Negro - released A Class Act. With a masterful mix of good ol' Tejano, some smooth Latino mixed in and a nod to a classic Mexican sound.

A Texas native from Sugarland, Ruben Ramos and his band, The Texas Revolution, have reached the top in the Tejano music category. He stands at the head of a long family legacy of music, bands, and extraordinary talent. The story of that legacy is detailed on his Web site.

The Billboard Guide to Tejano and Regional Mexican Music said, "Ruben Ramos has developed a solid reputation as one of the smoothest singers and classiest bandleaders in the history of the genre." His achievements include: Grammy Winner (1999 for Los Super Seven), he was inducted into the Pura Vida Hall of Fame and into the Tejano music Hall of Fame, and he is a Multiple Tejano Music Award recipient. He released Tejanisimo in 1998.

Ramos' 1997 release, El Gato Negro Smooth, is another of his albums. You can learn more and hear sound clips of El Gato Negro at his excellent Web site, rubenramos.com.

Ruben Ramos Album Review:
True Tejano/Chicano music at 2006-03-16
If you wanted to hear the way Tejano music is supposed to sound, you need this CD. Avizos Horn section with a light mix of accordion makes for great music reminiscent of Tejano legends like Little Joe, Sunny Ozuna and the Latin Breed. Avizo brings in elements of all the music that has influenced what Tejano is; rock, r and b, South Texas Conjunto, big band....with some solid tributes to other Latin traditions like Salsa and Mambo. An All-Star lineup of guest vocals including Jay Perez, Ruben Ramos, Little Joe, Jessy Serrata, Augustin Ramirez and David Marez are outstanding, but Avizos very own Tracy Perez takes a back seat to nobody, as her songs may be the best. Nunca Jamas and Corazon de Piedra are two of the best Tejano songs of 2005.

Ruben Ramos Album Editorial:
Legendary Tejano artists share their vocal talent on this studio album by Houston-based AVIZO their first recording in several years. Tracks (with vocalists): 1. Cuatro Balazos (Little Joe) 2.
