OHN Bio:

OHN's style has been described as "DJ Shadow meets Bitches Brew-era Miles Davis" and has garnered rave reviews from local and national media. OHN utilizes a deadly combination of dual guitars, trumpet, keys, bass, drums, middle-eastern instruments, programmed beats, saxophone and samples to create a remarkable live, electronic sound. OHN formed when a diverse group of musicians from several popular Austin bands found a common musical ground.

The second album was recorded in some of Austin's top studios over a span of two years. Bildeaux, founding father, programmer and producer, has worked on material for talented artists such as Jarboe from the Swans, Riggs from Rob Zombie, Soak (Interscope/Sire) and Laura Scarborough. Chris Forshage has played with many acts including Larry and Grass. Andrew Tachovsky is also a guitar veteran, previously sharing stages with Chris in the band Pura Vida. Ryan Blum-Kryzstal is a poet and jazz vocalist, currently attending the prestigious New School Of Jazz in NYC. Brad Houser is a veteran of several top notch bands such as Critter's Buggin(Ropeadope), The New Bohemians(Geffen), and Lila's Medicine. The most recent addition is Allison Scharf, providing sensual vocals that mix perfectly with the sultry downtempo sounds. This powerhouse ensemble has been wowing audiences with its unique visual and ever changing live performances, and has taken free form electronic music to an all new level.

OHN Album Review:
Great Downtempo Blend at 2005-12-17
You will be hard pressed to pigeon-hole this bands sound, which makes it all the more interesting. All the subtle organic and electronic touches give the melodic tunes an even greater depth. I review tons of tunes everyday and I have to be honest, this cd is well worth the money and has the staying power so many music cds lack. It grows on you.....if you let it.

Let"s Get It

OHN Album Review:
Absolutely Wonderful at 2005-03-09
Having been a fan of some of the members previous bands (Soak in particular) I was quite interested when I heard about this instrumental group OHN. Once the album came out I got it immediately and couldnt wait to pop it in and hear some new music from some very talented people. I was very pleasently surprised with the record as a whole. Its such a very atmospheric and breezy sounding piece of work. I highly recommend Lets Get It... to fans of jazzy/atmospheric/new wave instrumental music. Their new record is getting ready to come out soon and I gotta say that Im very excited for it!

OHN Album Review:
Mind-blowing electronic fusion that takes you on a journey. at 2004-06-02
This album was not what I though it would be. A friend said that they were from Texas and I could not believe it! This music is so amazing! It is a journey of sound and feels like sonic skulpture. If you love to dance, or chill, make love or go on long journeys to far away lands...this OHN music is a soundtrack you should have.

OHN Album Editorial:
In their debut offering Ohn crafts a well-rounded sound. Starting with a base of sampled rhythm loops they gently stir in bass grooves and keyboard sounds melting it all down in a hot bath of guitar fuzz. In this fresh Austin six-piece the ingredients are premium. Each member displays seasoned musicianship and has paid his dues with a variety of bands including 16volt Soak Dexter Freebish Grass Groovin Ground Edens Plot Oceanic Retarded Elf House In Orbit and Burn. The guitar and bass are played live and the keyboard flavors are authentic and diverse. Substituting a laptop for an acoustic drum kit helps fuse their sweet patchouli sensibility with the groovy styling of electronica broadening their sound. The drum tracks are cut lean and spliced so nice that youd never know they were digital (until they bust out with impossible sounds). The result is a collection of instrumental jams that root their influence jazz-fusion while simultaneously sporting a forward thinking sound. This album is not your standard club fare and though it can inspire one to shake it at times its downtempo feel promotes an erotic almost aphrodisiatic effect. Its 15 tracks tell the story in four acts separated by interludes. I found the most rewarding portion in the third section among tracks such as Cowboys and Indians and The Traveler. Here the songs seem to come to terms with their wandering nature and the album finds itself before propelling into a rollicking climax.
