When the New York Times reviewed their performance at SXSW 2006, they said, The music was grounded in rhythms like the Mexican cumbia, but topped with cool keyboard tones that tilted the songs toward 1980's electro or jazz.

Maneja Beto includes Nelson Valente, Bobby Garza, Alex Chavez, Patrick Estrada, and Will Schulz. The band has been featured on several radio stations in Austin in live segments on programs such as KUT's ?Horizontes? and KVRX's ?Radio Caracol.?
