With all the bands in Austin, Texas, Lixbox will be the next band to stand out. Lixbox has the potentual to be one of the best bands to come out of Austin in a long time. I believe it has to do with the song writing cababilities of Larry Schmidt and Brad Falch. Writing and composing the songs took ten years in the making.
LixBox music is the product of four average Texans who deliver an exciting, and fresh new sound. Originating in Austin, LixBox has created a distinctive style from a combination of rock and blues. The original music and the cover songs of LixBox has already garnered significant attention from listeners in Austin and surrounding areas.
With boundless creativity, originality, and a very solid and experienced line up, Lixbox is the perfect live entertainment choice for any venue, reception, corporate event, festival, or special occasion.
Brad Falch the Lead Vocalist & Guitarist
Born and raised in Austin, Brad has been singing his whole life. At the age of nineteen he picked up the guitar and began gigging in groups around Austin. For the last 6 year he has been performing with Mike Kling. Brad is dedicated to providing impassioned vocals and loves creating high quality songs. His powerful voice, extended range, and audience persona make him well suited as the band’s lead singer and front man.
Larry Schmidt the Lead Guitarist & Vocals
Born in El Paso, TX and owned his first guitar at age 12. Larry has been entertaining people through out the southwest since he was 15 years old. Larry met Mike K. in the summer of 2006. They discovered they loved the same style of music. The kind of music when you close your eyes and play you can feel it all the way down to your soul. His incredible lead techniques, melodic sensibilities and original tones are a fit for the homegrown sound of Lixbox and he is a must-see.
Clyde Browning the Bassist & Vocals
Clyde hails from Dallas, Texas. He formerly played the Austin music scene for ten years, playing with bands such as Shiftless, Blue Cartoon, and more. Clyde did a recent four-year gig overseas in Europe, playing the local scene in southern France. He learned to French, but failed to learn to play the accordion. He returned to his Austin musical roots and joined Lixbox to express his artistic rhythms and passion to play.
Mike Kling the Drummer & Vocals
Growing up in Beaumont, TX gave Mike a taste of New Orleans style funk and zydeco. He tells us, “I love a good solid pull-em-out on the floor, funky, rhythmic beat with swirling accents of cymbals and toms. I create a swirling, pulsing feel that just sucks you onto the dance floor like a strong Texas Gulf undertow”. Mike’s technique supports and drives the song. Lixbox greatest asset is his genius sense of touch.
