Charge Laughing coverGinger Leigh has evolved her way from a solo performer through a popular incarnation as half of the Ginger and Sarah Band, which became Vera Takes the Cake. Ginger Leigh now has a solo album, Charge Laughing (2003), available and is doing many solo appearances in Austin and around Texas.
Leigh has a running Tuesday night gig at Cedar Street where she's doing a variety of jazz, blues, rock, pop, originals and covers. Vera Takes the Cake is also doing some shows and billing them as Ginger and Sarah reunited, so be on the lookout for her in either guise.
Ginger Lady album coverLeigh is providing an Austin venue for other artists in her retail shop, called Love, at 1000 South 1st. Love hosts performers such as Patrice Pike, Sarah Sharp and Matt the Electrician in Bring-Your-Own-Blanket Love on the Lawn shows.
Her first album, Ginger Lady, (1997) is all original tunes in a jazzy, swinging mode.
