Often referred to as a poet, Floramay's lyrics tell stories from one woman's view of the adventures of life. The music comes from many experiences and includes bluegrass, gospel, rock, and folk. It fits into the genre Americana, which incorporates all the differing styles of American music while not fitting neatly into any one. Her strong and earthy voice bring the songs to life. Holiday is the veteran of a SXSW showcase and a number of Austin venues such as Shaggy's, where she sings about everything from the mystery of life to her dog Cody. Voice of an angel...proof that theres a Heaven! at 2000-08-18 If youre ever been lucky enough to hear a live performance of this young ladys amazing talent, to hear her angelic voice and to be visually stunned by her stage presence and enthusiasm then youre probably already convinced that theres a Heaven.This first CD recording (of hopefully dozens more to come) is the perfect way to become introduced to a star in the making. The range of the lyric topics is diverse enough to suit anyones taste and the way that this songbird can switch from bouncy country and western to subtle moodiness is almost frightening.The first song on the CD, Mystery is my personal favorite and usually results in me hearing the tune bounce around in my head for hours/days to come (not that Im complaining)!So, to sum up: either go to Austin, Texas and see the live show or ABDOLUTELY buy the CD. Either way, you cant go wrong!Way to go, Flo!
