Local Music Fan at 2005-05-06
I first saw Damesviolet play at Lucky Lounge in Austin, Texas last Sept. (2004) and since then, I have had the privilege of seeing them play more than a dozen times. Their stage presence is awesome (perks that theyre cute), but the music is what makes them great! Theyve created some kick-ass rock tunes (like Leave Me) as well as sentimental ballads (like Every Time we say Goodbye). So you wont be disappointed with their new CD. I bought it as a Christmas gift for some of my local friends and they are now a favorite among us all. Watch Out - Their music becomes addictive!

I just saw them last night! WONDERFUL! at 2004-08-19
I went to Crabby Jacks (San Antonio) last night (18 Aug 04) to try a new restaurant, and wound up finding a new sound! It was awesome getting to hear Damesviolet for the first time in person. All their songs were so enjoyable that I bought a CD from Beaux, their lead singer, on a break. Every song has the same great energy, emotion, and quality that one longs to find on one disc. By far this is NOT your run of the mill CD that only has one or two good songs on it and lots of fluff! I particularly like Unforgotten. I hope they stick around a long time to make lots more great music- and that they make it big! Im going to buy their first CD because I liked some of the songs they played from it last night... What should I say about this album. I love it. This is music for everybody who likes good handmade melodic alternative rock. Maybe fans of the Calling, Lifehouse, Tonic etc. should take a listen to this wonderful album. I must say I like this band more than the ones I mentioned. I really have to say thank you to my friend Andrew from Austin, Texas, for telling me about this band. Beaux Loy sings wonderful melodies, especially their ballads are great, e.g. Everytime we say goodbye. And you must have their first album too with the absolutely fabulos ballad Iýve got you where I want you. This song has to be given 10 stars. This band has the potential to become big.
