D:Fuse Album Review:
A Little Too Chill at 2005-05-25 Dont get me wrong, there are some great tracks here, but unfortunately there were a few to many chill tracks. D-Fuse is Supposed to be this big Trance guy, so when I picked up his album thats what I wanted. The majority of the album is chill out, so if thats your thing, this might be great for you, I guess I was just expecting a little more is all. D:Fuse Album Review: F8 at 2006-01-30 This album riktors. not know how is so killerzz. please buy this most rictorest album. Everything on it is great. It very well produced 2. Some more energetic than others, but all trax are pretty. D:Fuse Album Review: Worth buying at 2005-08-25 This is a one of the best artist albums out. Thats right artist album. Thats why there are chill songs, progressive house songs etc. Im guessing he wants us to get a feel of what he is musically. Most of his sets and cds have a wide variety of downtempo and progressive music. If you are a DJ this album is great. It has it all. You can use it to warm up or wind down. Well worth the money and one of the few artist albums I use in my sets. D:Fuse Album Editorial: THE DEBUT ARTIST ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE WORLDS BIGGEST TRANCE PRODUCERS! D:Fuse Album Review:
Another Amazing Release from One of Americas Best at 2003-06-04 After D:Fuses phenomenal last release People, Ive been anxious for the release of his next mix and Both Sides of the Picture delivers big time! The brilliant disc 1 includes what in my opinion is the track of the year - D:Fuses original Everything with You featuring Jes - this track deserves and should receive big radio play. Disc 2 of Both Sides of the Picture and tracks like his House Sound of the Future perfectly captures his unique and diverse progressive sound which makes the experience of D:Fuse live so unforgettable. D:Fuse Album Review: Just loved it at 2003-12-06 Being a raver that got started partying in Austin I have a lot of respect for the DJs that got started there. This double disc captures the essence of D:Fuse like never before. The first disc is very chill. While normally I dont like the chilled out club music I found this disc to be simple and amazing. Nice teasing beats to get you ready for the unbelieveable second disc. The second disc is unreal. It fuses together house and trance to create a unique sound that once you hear is unmistakable. This release has moved into my top ten favorite CDs after only two breif listenings. Buy it if you are looking for something out of the box. D:Fuse Album Review: Is any of D:Fuse old stuff more like CD#1 ?! at 2004-07-25 I only heard 30 second sound-samples of each track...CD #1 seemed like really good melodic ambient trance...whereas CD#2 seemed like ALOT harder trance. The sound quality seemed Excellent on Both sides (UN-Like some other mixes that ive heard recently). SO, which of D:Fuses older CDs are more like CD#1 ?????! D:Fuse Album Review: i wish i could buy cd1 only at 2006-02-12 Cd1 has some un-fn-believable loungie house on it. The last 4, 3 of which are his own, are without a doubt some of the best lounge-house i have ever heard, deeper and funkier even than miguel migs with #12 bieng the stand-out. While the first half of the cd is not chill or lounge it can only be described as ambient, but still not bad if that is what you like.Cd 2 on the other hand is nothing but cheezie house/trance.But the bright side is that if you like cheezie house/trance then you will love it ;-)) D:Fuse Album Review: ugh. yuk. at 2005-02-19 i bought this cd on a whim. those are crazy things, these whims.i thought maybe, just maybe this cd would be good. i was wrong.on first listen, it was ok. but, everytime ive listenend to it since, it keeps getting worse.it DOES NOT grow on you, and it WILL NOT grow on you, so dont even try. buy a miguel migs cd instead. much, much better. the last song NYD i thought hd the most potential for greatness. but it is so corny, cheesy, and terribly remixed that it makes me embarrassed to listen to it, even when im alone! this is utter garbage. disc 1, people chilling, i now use as a coaster when i have people chilling at my house. dont wanna leave rings on the table. disc 2 people clubbing i put a lighter to it, just to watch it melt. i had more fun dstroying hese discs, than i did listening to it.(...) D:Fuse Album Editorial: The Austin DJ with the 10-gallon hat returns for IBoth Sides of the Picture using an uptempo/downtempo split for his 2-disc sequel to 2002s IPeople. A wealth of swooping melody on CD 1 (IPeople Chilling) shows off the light trance production that has made D:Fuse a favorite with long-time practitioners of the genre like Paul Oakenfold. Unfortunately D:Fuse spends too long on borderline new age like Piano Heavens Subtech to build a convincing blue-room mood. The trip finally starts about midway through with the teasing beats and cascading keyboards of Timewave Zeros beautiful Joy. CD 2 (IPeople Clubbing) concentrates on energetic house starting with his Music is About You manifesto and continuing through to the cheesy but delicious remake of U2s New Years Day. While a bit spotty D:Fuses sense of adventure carries the mix successfully capturing the DJs kinetic live act into the studio. -IMatthew Cooke |

D:Fuse Album Review:
Mixed emotions at 2004-06-23 This album is one that grows on you, at first you may not appreciate the slow melodic trance, and very weak vocal tracks. D:fuse can really impress or dissapoint you, depending on your taste in the trance genre. I have closely followed his progression into a much much cleaner mixer; and better track selection with each new album that D:fuse releases has put him on the map. The one fault of this album (and the only flaw in his ability), is that the vocal tracks that he chooses are not as strong and uplifting as I would like a trance DJ to play. Dont get me wrong here, this album rocks! D:fuse can blow the roof off any club in the world, but he can also just blow. I strongly suggest that you listen to this album before you purchase it. This is not for the average listener, you must be patient with this mix, and you must have a good ear for trance, or you will be dissapointed. D:Fuse Album Review: Yeeeeeeeeehaaaw, Its D:Fuse!!!! at 2002-10-24 Alright, this is classic! The only reason I bought this CD was because I wanted to see exactly what a man in a cowboy hat was going to be able to do on a couple of turntables!!! Holy poo, this man knows exactly what hes doing, and completly blew me away!!! You know a Dj by the first CD. If the Dj isnt that great, the first CD wont be that great, but if it rocks, then hold on, because this Djs goin to bring down the house. D:Fuse does just that. . .the second he starts throwing down to the last beat, D:Fuse brings his dancefloor to you and wont let you off!!! Buy it! D:Fuse Album Review: deft programming, and a great disc 1 make People shine at 2002-03-19 First off, lets give credit to D:Fuse for delivering three totally different mixes in the past three years, all imminently enjoyable. Psychotrance 2001 proved a superb trance anthem roundup, Progressive Mix 1.0 made a solid statement for darker grooves, and now People shows off his deft programming skills spread over two hours.Disc ones the corker, a lattice of intricately layered trance tunes, heavily focused on subtle melody and minor swells. Fevers Distorted Horizon is a slinky little number, Replicant spins your head with the synth swells of The Conspiracy, and the lone vocal number Never Need to Worry drops at just the right moment to make hearts swoon. These low-key selections tightly merge for a deeply satisfying mix, an exclamation for the power of understated music.Disc two brings a welcome shift to uplifting, rhythmic dance more in line with what listeners to Perfecto sets would expect. The material here is a bit older, but captivating nonetheless. Paranoid Jack packs a happy hook and springy keyboard on Good Luv, while Echoes shows a satisfying string breakdown and distinct vocals. Final kudos to the breakbeat dub of Blue Amazon And Then the Rain Falls and Circulations delicate closer Turquoise. disc 1: 5 stars disc 2: 4 stars D:Fuse Album Review: Cowboy hat and all, D:Fuse is outstanding at 2002-03-03 With this his fourth commercially released cd mix, Texas-based Dustin Fuslier, aka D:Fuse, has definitely arrived as one of the very finest progressive djs working today. People is simply a magnificent release of skillfully mixed progressive tracks, and its rendered all the better by the fact that its a two-cd package, the latest in Paul Oakenfolds Perfecto Presents series. The current world of electronic dance music is characterized by a bewildering array of genres and subgenres. The music on these discs can best be categorized as progressive, which means its not house and not trance, but incorporates aspects of both, along with some elements of techno. These tracks on the whole are deep, beat-heavy, hypnotic, multilayered, and relatively free of both discernible melodies and vocals, save for occasional looped spoken samples. As is so frequently the case with two-cd sets, the first disc establishes a deep, dark-ish groove, whereas the second disc, representing the peaking portion of the djs time at the decks, seems a bit more trancey, less dark, and a bit more open and airy overall. Whats really remarkable here is that there is so much material that is fresh and new, with only a couple of tracks that will sound familiar even to the most ardent progressive-heads. Nearly all of the tracks are outstanding; however, worthy of particular mention from the first disc are Colours The Guitar Track and the incredibly talented Chris Cowies Silver. Modas Deeper succeeds in setting the second cd off to a powerhouse start. A little further along in the mix, D:Fuse presents a sample of his own production work in the form of the dark, driving Technique, recently featured in Perfectos Underground Sounds of the United States cd release. Other outstanding tracks include Mark James and Pee Wee Ferris The Boost and the airy Ocean Wave (Kasey Taylor) remix of Blue Amazons venerable progressive house classic, And Then The Rain Falls. As the cd2 mix heads down the home stretch, Fuslier establishes the sets high-energy point by including a bit of melodic, big-synth trance. Scanners loud and powerful Prayer blends seamlessly into Private Tastes more reflective First, which brings the energy level down to where the set can be brought to a blissful conclusion via three minutes worth of Circulations delicately gorgeous Turquoise (hey, why not a bit more?) All in all, the man in the white cowboy hat takes his listeners on a remarkble sonic journey thats well worth the price of admission. The one thing about this package that seems a bit curious is its title, People. The reason for the unusual name (unusual for this type of cd, anyway) is explained in the (extremely) fine print in the paper insert, i.e., that the set is dedicated to victims and heroes from last September 11. Overall, People rates five stars for disc one and four stars for disc two. Since this release represents the first outstanding progressive mix of 2002, Im definitely going to round up for my final rating. D:Fuse Album Review: Could Have Been Better... at 2002-03-03 When I found out that D:Fuse was coming out with a new CD I rushed to the store to get a copy. And thats sort-of-funny because like most people on the East coast who like trance, D:fuse is not really a widely known name exept perhaps in Washington DC, where I saw him for the first time spining at GLOW. That night was one of the most memorable music experinces I have ever had. Ever since then I became a fan. Ive seen some of the best DJs in the world spining all over the country, and D:fuse has true potential. Nevertheless hearing him live is a different experince than what he puts out on this CD. Im telling you... he is the man! which is why Im dissapointed at this CD because his music does not seem to want to wake up and bang like it does at the club. Why he chose such deep-house-like tracks, I dont know. But most tracks on both CDs turn out a little too-repetitive for trance and too long for deep-house. I know he has better stuff, but what I dont know is why he didnt let it show.. oh well maybe next time... |

D:Fuse Album Review:
One of the finest Prog mixes around at 2003-04-03 D:Fuse never lets me down. The quality of the mixes he puts out is always superb, and this one is no exception. This mix is well paced, and does not have a single track that seems like it was squeezed in there. The whole CD flows very well to the climax at Track 10, Circadian Rhythms, which is an amazing track. Mixing is excellent. What can I say, buy this! If you like D:Fuses work, you should also check out his CD ... check out the Illusion Mix, which is also excellent. D:Fuse Album Review: Its all in the pacing... at 2001-12-25 Yeah, this CD has some great tunes, but its genius is revealed in its entirety. The tantalizing and utterly compelling build to track #6 is so divinely calculated and so completely effective, that the heavy percussive qualities of Dutch Drum Attack will blow your mind regardless of the system on which it is being played. Then, the mood relaxes a bit with some melody, and pumps it up again with Bodyshock (which, admittedly, REALLY shines with a quality subwoofer). Track #10 (Cicadian Rhythms) is one of the most amazing, mind-expanding, progressive tunes I have ever heard, and will take your consciousness on an unforgettable, superfast, action-packed journey. And just when you think it cant get any more tasteful, D:Fuse eases you out of your frabjous state with a poignant, soothing, downward-spiraling trance melody. Some people have issues with such melodic trance at the end of a hard-hitting progressive masterpiece. Well, it isnt THAT melodic, and if you listen to the CD as one complete composition, you will be thankful -- as I am -- for D:Fuses rare gift of pulling just the right piece of vinyl out of his box. D:Fuse Album Review: Lets Get The Party Started at 2001-12-08 PROGRESSIVE MIX SESSION 1.O by D:FUSE is a totally awesome cd. His mixing is clean and the song selection that he chooses will get you up and dancing in no time at all. The bass is bumping and the music jumping and we can see that D:FUSE is a very talented DJ who has a very promising career ahead of him. The music is perfect when just driving in your car or getting hyped for a night of some serious clubbing ahead. I recommend this cd for anyone interested in house/trance. D:Fuse Album Review: Awesome!! A++ at 2001-11-30 For those of you who are sick of cheesy trance then this is for you. This cd is awesome. I have about 100 house/trance cds and this would definitely be in my top ten. I listen to everything from break beat to trance to house. This is more progressive house and less trancy. These are songs you would hear at a club.If you are looking for something to dance to and listen to in the car then get this. You will not be disappointed. Those of you who like Nick Warren GU Budapest should get this. D:Fuse is not a household name but he is definitely talented. I have seen him live and he knows how to throw some wicked beats. Recommended. D:Fuse Album Review: One of the best of 2001. so far..... at 2001-04-18 d fuse is back with his third cd and it his best by far. driving bass lines of deep dark dirty progressive house/trance, nothing beats it. the only bad part about the cd is the intro which in my opinion isn t nessasary. after the into the fun begins. d fuse wastes no time to kick it into gear and the mix is off and running. its hard 2 find quality cds like this. I saw d fuse live with oakey and he put on a awsome set similar to this cd. This one and digweeds new G.U are the best of 2001 but Max Graham is coming out with tranceport 4 soon(I know it will be good) but this is a must buy for the true progressive Quality not cheese fan. |
